  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1.25 oz taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend
  • 2 cups finely diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for about 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  4. Roll out pizza dough on parchment paper to a size of approximately 10 x 15 inches.
  5. Slice dough into strips along both long sides, leaving the center intact.
  6. Microwave refried beans for 45 seconds; spread evenly down the center of the dough.
  7. Layer seasoned beef over the beans, followed by salsa, cheese, and diced tomatoes.
  8. Fold dough strips alternately over the filling to create a braid; secure ends.
  9. Brush melted butter over the braid and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing; serve with chopped lettuce and sour cream.
