  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until combined.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Dip each shrimp first in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture for an even coating.
  4. Heat about 1 – 1½ inches of vegetable oil in a Dutch oven to 375°F.
  5. Fry shrimp in small batches (about 10 at a time) for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove cooked shrimp with a skimmer and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
