  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 16 Oreos
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for brownie layer)
  • 2 eggs (for brownie layer)
  • ¼ cup white sugar (for brownie layer)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for brownie layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add one egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Gradually stir in flour and baking soda until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and crushed Oreos.
  4. In another bowl, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with butter until smooth. Whisk in eggs, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in flour, salt, cocoa powder until blended; gently fold in chopped Oreos.
  6. Spread half of the cookie dough into the prepared pan, top with brownie batter evenly, and spoon dollops of remaining cookie dough on top.
  7. Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling before cutting into squares.
