  • 16 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian chicken sausage
  • 34 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 jars (24 ounces each) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 8 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente; drain and return to pot. Stir in 4 tablespoons of butter until melted.
  3. Mix one jar of spaghetti sauce into cooked noodles; set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef and Italian chicken sausage with diced onions. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in the remaining jar of spaghetti sauce and set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, and 1½ cups shredded mozzarella until smooth.
  6. In a deep baking dish, place remaining butter slices at the bottom. Layer half the spaghetti noodles, followed by the cheese mixture, then the rest of the noodles.
  7. Pour meat sauce over the top and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
