  • 3 hoagie rolls
  • 12 Italian meatballs (combination of ground beef and chicken)
  • 11.5 cup marinara sauce
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 11.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil and parsley, minced
  • Dried oregano, salt, and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground chicken, egg, soaked whole wheat bread, minced onion, pressed garlic, basil, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form small balls from the mixture and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
  5. Assemble by placing meatballs in hoagie rolls, topping with marinara sauce and cheeses.
  6. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Serve hot with extra marinara sauce on the side.
