  • 1/2 large onion (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 165C/325F. Grease or line a square baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, rosemary, marjoram, oregano, thyme, pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into two small logs or one large log and place in the prepared baking pan.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the internal temperature reaches at least 165F.
  5. Let the gyro meat rest for about 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
