Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 5 cups water
  • ½ cup salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon liquid honey

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brine by mixing salt, sugar, and water in a large bowl. Add chicken wings, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for two hours.
  2. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, combine olive oil and minced garlic. Cook until garlic is lightly browned, then add lemon juice, black pepper, onion powder, oregano, and honey. Simmer for five minutes and set aside.
  3. Preheat the grill to 350°F (175°C). Remove wings from brine and place on the grill. Cook for approximately twenty minutes, flipping every five minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  4. Dip each wing in the lemon sauce mixture and grill for an additional two minutes per side to caramelize before serving.
