  • 12 large hard-boiled eggs (peeled and cooled)
  • 3 cups white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large white onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 to 3 sprigs fresh dill
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 teaspoons pickling spices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pickling liquid by combining sliced onion, vinegar, water, sugar, salt, bay leaf, and pickling spices in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a glass jar, layer one whole garlic clove at the bottom, followed by three hard-boiled eggs and some of the cooked onion slices. Add a sprig of dill and repeat until the jar is full.
  3. Pour the cooled pickling liquid over the eggs until fully submerged.
  4. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 3-4 days before enjoying.
