  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the warm coffee, vinegar, vanilla extract, and olive oil.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gradually while mixing on low speed until just blended.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
  7. For the frosting, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract until creamy.
