  • 46 large or medium apples
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or walnuts)
  • 1/3 cup dried fruit (blueberries, cranberries, cherries, or raisins)
  • 1/3 cup granola
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • Additional unsalted butter for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and dry the apples, then carefully core each one without cutting through.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine nuts, dried fruits, granola, brown sugar, and spices until well mixed.
  4. Fill each apple with the mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  5. Pour water into the dish and add a slice of butter on top of each apple.
