  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
  • 1 large red onion (sliced)
  • 6 pineapple slices (fresh or canned)
  • 6 slices cooked turkey turkey turkey bacon
  • 6 slices havarti cheese
  • Green leaf lettuce
  • 6 soft hamburger buns (brioche or Hawaiian)
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • Optional toppings: tomato, bell pepper, pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, soy sauce, and pineapple juice. Mix gently until blended.
  2. Shape into six equal patties; make an indent in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.
  3. Preheat grill to 400°F and grill onion and pineapple slices for about three minutes until charred. Remove and set aside.
  4. Grill patties for about three minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F. Add cheese during the last minute.
  5. Let burgers rest for five minutes before assembling on buns with mayo, grilled toppings, turkey turkey turkey bacon, teriyaki sauce, lettuce, and additional toppings as desired.
